Created in 2007, the Society of Young Leading Women is a female empowerment youth organization. The society has been made for the elite young women who believe that this common double standard of society must be aligned correctly. Upon becoming a member of the society, high school females will be given numerous opportunities that will be designated once they begin a chapter.
In order to become a member, females must be nominated by their current teacher, regardless of subject. They will then undergo an interview process with the Society’s President and the advisor. If your high school does not offer an SYLW chapter, you may start one yourself. Please vi
ew the "Start a Chapter" section of this website. If you are homeschooled or are unable to create a chapter, you may become a member by contacting of the Founder of the Society of Young Leading Women. Please view the "Contact Us" section.
The Society of Young Leading Women is divided into three commitees. The nominated young women will have the opportunity to decide which committee they wish to serve on. Each committee will appoint a Committee Chairwoman. The committees are: the Corporate Committee, the Law Committee, and the Medicine Committee.

Why we are here:
The Society of Young Leading Women believes that females have been given second hand respect throughout history. Recognizing that the 1,850 men who have served in Senate clearly dominate the poor number of 34 women, there is a need for women leaders to expose their abilities. As a high school student, you have the ability to make the bigger difference. This is why the SYLW is here. We are here to help young women through the development of becoming a leader. We will provide for them the necessary skills and attitude to achieve success. We're ready for a change.
Who we are looking for:
High school freshman, sophomores and juniors are eligible for membership. The Society of Young Leading Women is looking for young women who demonstrate leadership and activism in their communities. While there is no GPA requirement, the members should maintain a B average in their courses.
